Hurricanes can keep postal employees from their
appointed rounds.
And that's why help is on the way from a Cincinnati firm.
Arslan Uniforms is sending 1,000 shirts and pants to the postal service in
Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Alabama.
Unions representing postal workers contacted the Northside firm and its
suppliers for help and the shipment went out Tuesday by express mail.
"Many of them have dispersed to other communities," said Steve Arslan, of
Arslan Uniforms. "They obviously want to get back to work. Get on with their
lives. They can't really do it without a uniform, so we were fortunate enough to
be able to help as much as possible."
About two weeks ago Arslan sent 1,600 pairs of pants and 50 bullet-proof
vests for police officers in the New Orleans area.
